10 years ago… and a few kilos lighter!

In 2015, I did not yet really know Soignies, let alone Casteau. We had just opened our first pizzeria, La Bottega Della Pizza, without really knowing where this adventure would lead us. And yet… a few months after opening, a customer ordered a pizza. Nothing unusual, except that this customer was actually a professional judge, an anonymous critic who visits pizzerias around the country.
Two months later, the phone rang: we were told that this judge had found the best pizza in Hainaut, and one of the best in Belgium, at our restaurant. An immense honour that would mark the beginning of our adventure.
The two pizzas that won over this judge are on our menu today:
La Margherita dei Savoia, a great classic, recognised by UNESCO as one of only two true Neapolitan pizzas (along with Marinara, also available here). (Savoia is in fact the surname of the queen to whom this pizza was offered in 1889 in Naples.)
La Campagnola, a generous pizza combining white mushrooms, the chef’s onions, gorgonzola DOP and spicy Italian salami.
That event, now ten years ago, was the first step towards what would become La Corte Segreta. A story of passion, encounters and love for pizza.
